Since 2000, the Bureau of Indian Standards has been running a Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme. According to the FMCS, the license is granted to a Foreign Manufacturer for using Standard Mark on a product that works on an Indian Standard. The scheme applies to the license grant for products except those notified under CRS. The Foreign Manufacturers Certification Department (FMCD) license is granted at BIS Headquarters, New Delhi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically, Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS) is an ISI Mark License Scheme for overseas manufacturers. The <a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/bis-certification\" class=\"text-primary\"><strong>BIS license<\/strong><\/a> is issued for a location where the product is manufactured and tested as per prevalent Indian Standard(s). Then, standard Mark is applied to the outcome following such Indian Standard(s). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Note<\/em><\/strong>&#8211; The procedure\nof the Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme is not applicable for goods\ncovered under registration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>It is based on the Model of Type 5 Scheme of ISO\/IEC 17067. However, the manufacturer shall-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Ensure conformity of their product(s) to applicable Indian\nstandard specification&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Having all the specifications related to manufacturing\nmachinery\/facilities at their factory premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Have necessary arrangements in their factory premises for\ntesting the product(s) as per applicable ISS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Competent testing personnel in their lab to test the\nproduct(s)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Accept the Scheme of Testing &amp; Inspection and Marking\nFee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. All the documents should be in English\/translated into the\nEnglish Language<\/li><li>Process flow\nchart.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Details of\nmanufacturing machinery.<\/li><li>Details of raw\nmaterials and Raw material test Certificate.<\/li><li>Particulars\nincluding information on test equipment and Test Equipment Calibration\nCertificate.<\/li><li>Drawing of the\nproduct or its components (If required)<\/li><li>Test report\naccording to Indian Standards.<\/li><li>Nomination.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Undertaking and\nDeclaration.<\/li><li>Other information\nif required.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_for_FMCS_Certification_in_India\"><\/span><strong>Procedure for FMCS Certification in India<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Below mentioned is the Procedure for FMCS Certification:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>The first step is filling out the application form accompanied by the required documents.<\/li><li>A requisite fee will be paid along with the form submission.<\/li><li>Once the application is filed, the authority will conduct a factory inspection to verify the manufacturing and testing infrastructure.<\/li><li>At the time of factory inspection, a product sample will be taken for independent testing.<\/li><li>The registration process will move forward once the inspection is done.&nbsp;<\/li><li>As the independent test report verifies that the product is complying with the BIS standards.<\/li><li>Before granting FMCS, the applicant must pay the license fee and advance minimum marking fee.<\/li><li>After Paying the requisite fees, the Agreement, Indemnity Bond will be signed, and a $10,000 (USD) Performance Bank Guarantee must be furnished instantly after a license grant.<\/li><li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/foreign-manufacturer-certification-scheme-fmcs\" class=\"text-primary\"><strong>Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme<\/strong><\/a> will be issued if a product complies with the BIS standards.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Renewal_of_Foreign_Manufacturers_Certification_Scheme\"><\/span><strong>Renewal of Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme license is granted for not less than one year and up to two years.
