The mark proves that a product has met the standards\ndeveloped by the Bureau of Indian Standards. It is essential for an industrial\nproduct to bear this mark as it provides authenticity and assurance to the\nbuyer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Products such as motors, cables, switches,\nheaters, LPG valves, automotive tyres etc., must get a mandatory ISI mark. In\nthe case of other products, it is optional, and manufacturers will determine\nwhether to get an ISI mark or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_importance_of_an_ISI_license\"><\/span>What is the importance of an ISI license?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An ISI Mark registration is essential for a\nmanufacturer. A product that carries the ISI mark indicates that the product is\nof high quality and safe to use. This creates a relationship of trust between\nthe manufacturer and the consumer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Standards_for_the_Automotive_industry\"><\/span>Standards for the Automotive industry:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past years, India has been making vital progress in developing its domestic economy and is also making it easier to attract foreign investments. Along with this the Make In India campaign has picked up the pace; the campaign also extends to automobile and automotive components. These are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Document showing proof of address of manufacturing Unit.<\/li><li>A copy of the certificate of registration.<\/li><li>A Copy of the test carried out by BIS-authorised labs. Note: The results should not be more than one month old<\/li><li>A Map of the factory\/plant<\/li><li>Proof of Trade Mark Registration<\/li><li>Address proof of The factory<\/li><li>Organisational Chart of the Factory<\/li><li>A list containing Details of Machinery and equipment<\/li><li>In the case of AIR manufacturers; Documents of the Authorised Indian Representative<\/li><li>PCB layout<\/li><li>User Manual<\/li><li>Critical component list <\/li><li>Schematic Diagram.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_to_get_ISI_Mark_Certification_for_the_Automobile_industry\"><\/span>Procedure to get ISI Mark Certification for the Automobile\nindustry<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: <\/strong>The applicant must select the product code of\nthe automobile part from the list mentioned above. And make sure the products\ncomply with all the requirements to obtain the BIS license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Once the product code is selected, the applicant must fill in Form-V along with the registration fees. In case an inspection is required, an audit fee must also be paid along with it. It is important to note that the manufacturer must file a separate application for each product for which ISI registration is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: <\/strong>A team of inspection officers from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/bis-certification\" class=\"text-primary\">BIS<\/a><\/strong> will visit the factory premises. The Team shall conduct inspections and examine the factory to ensure proper quality control measures are being followed. The BIS officer will take some of the products as a sample for testing and quality check purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4: <\/strong>The applicant must send its products to BIS-registered labs. In the lab, the product shall be subjected to various tests, and a report shall be provided to the applicant, which needs to be submitted to BIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step-5: <\/strong>After completing all the procedures as mentioned above of submitting documents, test reports and filling in the application (Form-V) to BIS authorities. The authorities, after verification, shall issue the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/isi-certification\" class=\"text-primary\">ISI certificate<\/a><\/strong>. The process of obtaining the ISI certification takes up to 30 days from the date of submission of the application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Renewal_of_ISI_Mark_Certification_for_the_Automobile_industry\"><\/span>Renewal of ISI Mark Certification for the Automobile\nindustry<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nvalidity of the ISI certification is around one year. This can be extended\nfurther on submission of the renewal application and prescribed fee.
