The bureau is governed by the rules set forth by<strong> the BIS Act of 2016<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bis.gov.in\/index.php\/product-certification\/products-under-compulsory-certification\/scheme-i-mark-scheme\/\" class=\"text-primary\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup>. It was created to develop standards and provide certification to products and their manufacturing process. This process ensures that the products circulated in the Indian Market are reliable, non-hazardous and can act as import substitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having multiple uses and being such a vital\ncommodity in every sector has made it important for iron products circulated in\nthe Indian market to be of top-notch quality. This makes sure that the\ndomestic manufacturer is producing a product of high quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Foreign\nManufacturers Certification Scheme (FMCS)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FMCS certification is mandatory for foreign\nmanufacturers of Iron products. The FMC Scheme enables foreign manufacturers to\nuse the ISI mark on their products. However, for this, the foreign manufacturer\nhas to set up an office in India and appoint an agent who shall look after the\nprocess of registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Application_process_BIS_ISI_certification_for_Iron_Products\"><\/span>Application process BIS ISI certification for Iron\nProducts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is the application process for BIS ISI certification for Iron Products: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application\nprocess<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The applicant needs to fill in the form on the BIS portal.<\/li><li>Next, the applicant must put in a request for quality testing.<\/li><li>The applicant must attach all the documents as and when prompted.<\/li><li>After the submission of the application, a BIS official shall visit the plant\/factory for preliminary inspection.<\/li><li>The Officer shall examine the product samples. <\/li><li>Once all the inspections are completed, the BIS Official shall prepare the final tests report.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Surveillance\nProcess<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The BIS official sends in the examination officers who shall visit the factory premises to prepare the product&#8217;s test reports.<\/li><li>BIS officer shall also collect a few samples, mark them and send them to BIS registered laboratories.<\/li><li>The laboratories shall generate test reports of the products and give feedback on quality and standards.<\/li><li>The Examiner shall prepare a detailed review report for the tests<\/li><li>After going through all the reports, the BIS shall issue the manufacturer an<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/isi-certification\" class=\"text-primary\"> ISI certificate<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_required_BIS_ISI_certification_for_Iron_Products\"><\/span>Documents required BIS ISI certification for Iron Products:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following documents are required for\nBIS ISI certification for Iron Products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Applicant&#8217;s Identification proof.<\/li><li>Address of proof of the factory\/ manufacturing unit.<\/li><li>Proof of establishment such as a Registration Certificate, MOA, and Certificate of Incorporation.<\/li><li>MSME Certificate\/ SSI Certificate.<\/li><li>Documents about outsourcing: In case the manufacturing process is being outsourced.<\/li><li>Layout plan of the factory.<\/li><li>Flow chart of the Manufacturing process.<\/li><li>A Detailed list of the Equipment involved.<\/li><li>Certificates displaying calibration of testing equipment.<\/li><li>A detailed list of machinery and facilities.<\/li><li>BIS registered lab test reports of the product<\/li><li>In the case of an authorised representative, a letter of authorisation from the owner or CEO for the authorised signatory.<\/li><li>In the case of a foreign manufacturer, the company must assign an Indian agent.
