It is the body responsible for issuing national standards. BIS was established under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986, which came into effect on December 23, 1986. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/bis-certification\" class=\"text-primary\">ISI certification<\/a><\/strong> is a mark that is essential for electrical goods in India. The ISI mark instils faith in the consumer regarding the product&#8217;s safety, assurance and durability. For this,\nForm-V should be filed by the application along with the prescribed\nregistration fees. The applicant must also pay the audit fee for the inspection\nof the sample\/ product<\/li><li>Step 3: once the application is\nsubmitted and the request for inspection of the products is generated. A BIS\nofficer, along with the team shall visit the manufacturer&#8217;s factory premises.\nThe inspection team is responsible for conducting proper quality control\nexaminations and taking an in-depth look at the manufacturing process. During\nthis time, the BIS officials shall draw out random samples from the factory and\nsend these samples to BIS Laboratories for testing.<\/li><li>Step 4: Submit Sample Report:\nThe applicant also has to get the product tested from third-party\nBIS-recognised labs. The generated report from these labs needs to be collected\nand submitted to BIS for Quality test purposes.<\/li><li>Step 5: Once the process of\napplication is completed, BIS officials shall verify the submitted document and\ntest reports. The authorities usually grant the ISI certification in the span\nof 30 days, starting from the date of submission of the application. This\nissued ISI certification shall be valid for a period of one year. The\ncertification can be renewed after its expiry, but for this, the applicant\nneeds to file an application for renewal through a practising chartered\naccountant.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Renewal_of_the_BIS_ISI_certification_for_electrical_motors\"><\/span>Renewal of the BIS ISI certification for electrical motors<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ISI mark certification shall be valid\nfor one year. The certification can be renewed after filing an application for\nrenewal.
