The regulatory framework for medical devices is based on the Medical\nDevice Rules, 2017. As per the MDR, 2017, a Loan License to manufacture Class C\n&amp; Class D Medical Devices in Form MD-10 is needed to manufacture notified\nmedical devices in India. The application for Loan License is filed in Form\nMD-8, which is used to get the License in Form MD-10. So, to obtain a Loan\nLicense to manufacture Class C &amp; Class D medical Devices, the manufacturer\nmust file the application to CLA or Central Licensing Authority through an\nonline portal of the CDSCO. Below is the table of different classes of Medical Devices in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  <strong>Device\n  Class<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>Risks\n  Associated with Device<\/strong>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Class\n  A<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  Low Risk\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Class\n  B <\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  Low Moderate Risk\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Class\n  C<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  Moderate-High Risk\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Class\n  D<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  High Risk\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_Purpose_of_Form_MD-8_and_Form_MD-10\"><\/span>What is the Purpose of Form\nMD-8 and Form MD-10?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nis the purpose of Form MD-8 and Form MD-10:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  <strong>Forms<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>Purpose<\/strong>\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Form\n  MD-8<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>   Application for the issuance of Loan License to manufacture for sale or distribution of Class C or Class D medical devices.   <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>Form\n  MD-10<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>   Loan License to manufacture for sale\/for distribution of Class C or Class D medical devices.   <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conditions_for_Obtaining_Medical_Device_Loan_License_in_India_under_Form_MD-8_and_Form_MD-10\"><\/span>Conditions for Obtaining\nMedical Device Loan License in India under Form MD-8 and Form MD-10<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nare various conditions to be followed by the applicant to get Medical Device\nLoan License under Form MD-8 and Form MD-10:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>The applicant is required to get his or her\nLicense whenever requested by any Medical Device Office or any officer from\nCentral Licensing Authority.<\/li><li>As per <strong><em>Rule 83, Sub-Rule (3)<\/em><\/strong>, the License\nowner is required to perform various tests in the lab before the products are\nreleased and all the test documents are required to be submitted in Central\nLicensing Authority.<\/li><li>In case the manufacturing of a medical device\nhas stopped for more than a month or 30 days, then the manufacturer of the\ndevice should inform the same to the CLA.<\/li><li>The records of manufacturing &amp; sales should\nbe kept safe by the License holder and are required to be produced to the\nmedical office whenever requested.<\/li><li>In case of any unpredicted or suspected\nincident, the license holder is required to inform the CLA regarding the incident\nand actions taken for the same within 15 days of the incident.<\/li><li>Before making any changes, the license holder\nmust get approval for the same.
