the Registration is called Packer\nRegistration under Legal Metrology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_a_Pre-Packed_Commodity\"><\/span>What is a Pre-Packed Commodity?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the law of<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/model-approval-certificate-for-weights-and-measures\" class=\"text-primary\"> Legal Metrology<\/a><\/strong>, a Pre-packed Commodity is defined as a commodity placed in any package without the presence of a purchaser. The package can be sealed or unsealed so that the product inside the package has a pre-determined quantity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_Instructions_Regarding_Packer_Registration_under_Legal_Metrology\"><\/span>Important Instructions\nRegarding Packer Registration under Legal Metrology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nare some important instructions regarding Packer Registration under Legal\nMetrology:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>The address at which the registered office of the firm or company is situated is to be cited, including the street name and number assigned to the premises of the packer;<\/li><li>For the addition of any pre-packed commodities to be packed or manufactured, or imported in future, the actual Certificate has to be submitted to the concerned Department along with the requisite fees for the issue of a revised Certificate;<\/li><li>In case of a concern having more than one factory or unit, the Registration in regard to the registered office of the firm or company is necessary;<\/li><li>The application for Registration should be submitted by the applicant in person\/individual or through their authorised representative. An incomplete application n will not be accepted;<\/li><li>The Registration Certificate will be sent to the applicant by post only. In no instance will it be handed over to the applicant or their authorised representative.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mandatory_Commodities_in_Pre-Packed_Forms_by_Legal_Metrology_%E2%80%93_Packer_Registration_under_Legal_Metrology\"><\/span>Mandatory Commodities in\nPre-Packed Forms by Legal Metrology &#8211; Packer Registration under Legal Metrology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every\npackage shall bear plain, definite, and conspicuous declarations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>The name &amp; address of the packer (in case of\nPacker Registration under Legal Metrology);<\/li><li>The common or generic name of the commodity\ncontained in the package;<\/li><li>If the commodity contained in the package is\nsold, the commodity number in the package shall be mentioned;<\/li><li>Commodity&#8217;s dimensions contained in the package\n&amp; if the dimensions of the different products are different, then the\ndimension of each item shall be mentioned;<\/li><li>Every package shall bear the name, contact\nnumber, address, and email address;<\/li><li>The total quality in terms of the standard unit\nof weight\/measure of the commodity contained in the package;<\/li><li>The month &amp; year in which the commodity is\nmanufactured\/pre-packed\/imported shall be mentioned on the package.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Some_Important_Provisions_in_Package_Commodities_by_the_Legal_Metrology_ActRule\"><\/span>Some Important Provisions in\nPackage Commodities by the Legal Metrology Act\/Rule<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nare some vital provisions in Package Commodities by the Legal Metrology Act\/Rule:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>No individual shall charge more than MRP;<\/li><li>A sticker cannot be used to change or make a\nstatutory declaration;<\/li><li>MRP comprises all Transport, Packaging, Taxes,\nFreight &amp; Delivery charges;<\/li><li>No individual shall smudge or alter or\nobliterate the MRP;<\/li><li>While buying combo packs of bedsheets, towels,\nnapkins, etc., look for the size of each item, the number of items &amp; the\nretail sale price of each item.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_Details_on_the_Principal_Display_Panel_for_Customers_by_Legal_Metrology_Department\"><\/span>Important Details on the\nPrincipal Display Panel for Customers by Legal Metrology Department<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nare some vital details on the Principal Display Panel for a customer by Legal\nMetrology Department:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Every mandatory declaration which is to be made on\nthe pack shall be prominent &amp; legible and evidently declared on <strong><em>Principal\nDisplay Panel(PDP)<\/em><\/strong>and shall be free from any type of ambiguity.<\/li><li>The height &amp; weight of the numerical for\ndeclaring net quantity should be as per Legal Metrology Rules.<\/li><li>The Retail Sale Price &amp; net content declared\non a package should be in contrast colour with the label background. <\/li><li>For imported products, the importer\u2019s complete\naddress with a complete postal index number should be cited on the panel.<\/li><li>When the product package is provided with a\nwrapper or outside the container, all the compulsory declarations should appear\non such a wrapper or container.<\/li><li>Numbers for declaring net quantity should have\nspace above &amp; below the equal height of such numerical &amp; at least twice\nthe height of such numerical on the right &amp; left side in the declaration on\nPDP.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_Required_for_Packer_Registration_under_Legal_Metrology\"><\/span>Documents Required for Packer\nRegistration under Legal Metrology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nare some crucial documents required for Packer Registration under Legal\nMetrology, and these documents should be submitted along with the form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Residential address of the Directors or Partners or Proprietors such as passport, Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, etc.;<\/li><li>License for Trade or Factory or <strong>Lal Dora Certificate<\/strong><sub><a href=\"https:\/\/dmnorthwest.delhi.gov.in\/service\/lal-dora-certificate\/\" class=\"text-primary\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sub> from MCD or DMC or DDA etc. In case the MCD License is not available with the applicant, an undertaking in the form of an affidavit is to be submitted that the business premises are not located in a non-conforming area and\/or are not likely to be sealed by the MCD or relocated;<\/li><li>In the case of a Company, submit a Memorandum of Association (MoA) and Articles of Association (AoA) and in the case of a Partnership Firm, submit Partnership Deed;<\/li><li>Import Export Code (in case of importers);<\/li><li>Photographs of the Directors or Partners or Proprietors such as Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card, and Passport, etc.;<\/li><li>Packing material or Slip or Label Sticker which is being pasted on the packages;<\/li><li>Sales Tax Registration.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_for_Packer_Registration_under_Legal_Metrology\"><\/span>Procedure for Packer\nRegistration under Legal Metrology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nlegal Metrology Department issues Registration Certificates to all Packers in\nIndia for any product packages. Following is the procedure for Packer\nRegistration under Legal Metrology:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>First, the applicant needs to register or create an account online for filing the online application.<\/li><li>Once the applicant creates the account, they will get login credentials.<\/li><li>Then, .the applicant can file the application form online for Packer Registration under Legal Metrology.<\/li><li>After filing the application form, submit the same along with the vital documents.<\/li><li>Once submitted, a concerned officer will visit the area or premise for an inspection on the spot.<\/li><li>Once all the above steps are completed successfully, the Department will issue the Registration Certificate.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Penalties_related_to_Packer_Registration_under_Legal_Metrology\"><\/span>Penalties related to Packer\nRegistration under Legal Metrology<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If\nanyone violates Rules 27 to 31 of the Legal Metrology is punished with a fine\nof Rs. 4,000\/-.
