In 2012, <strong><em>the Ministry of Electronics &amp;\nInformation Technology (MeitY)<\/em><\/strong>, via a notification, the notification\nstated that the group of electronic devices should be categorised under the\nCRS. So, the manufacturer cannot sell the devices enlisted in the notification\nwithout proper BIS CRS Certification. When the Ministry of Electronic &amp;\nInformation Technology only contained 15 categories of electronic products. In\n2014, an additional 15 products were also added by the Ministry. In 2016, 13\nmore categories were introduced. In 2017, to foster new &amp; renewable energy\n5 additional products were added vide Solar Photovoltaics, Devices and\nComponents Products (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According\nto the BIS CRS Registration Scheme Order, no manufacturers shall be allowed to\nsell, import, or distribute electronic products or items that do not comply\nwith Indian Standards. All the products or items must have the CRS Mark &amp;\nthe Unique Registration Number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Basic_Requirements_for_BIS_CRS_Certification_for_Optical_Disc_Players\"><\/span>Basic\nRequirements for BIS CRS Certification for Optical Disc Players<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In\norder to obtain BIS CRS Certification for Optical Disc Players, the applicant\nor the manufacturer must fulfil the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Manufacturing Address<\/strong>: The correct manufacturing address shall be mentioned in the documents. there is no registered brand user\nor no proprietor appearing on the product or article located in India, then the\nother entity will become the Authorised Indian Representative.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Important_Points_need_to_be_considered_to_get_BIS_Certificate_in_India\"><\/span>Important\nPoints need to be considered to get BIS Certificate in India<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfollowing are some crucial points that should be considered to get BIS Certificate\nin India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>All the crucial documents\nshould be signed by the owner, manufacturer and Indian Representative\n&amp;&nbsp; additional documents should be\nstamped &amp; notarised by the brand owner and Indian Representative;<\/li><li>All the crucial documents shall\nbe ready before the testing of the sample;<\/li><li>Select BIS certified lab for\ntesting and appoint an experienced compliance partner until you have the\nexpertise and\/or office in India that can help you;<\/li><li>Before samples shipment, ensure\ncomplete arrangements have been made for the entire shipment from your location\nto the testing labs;<\/li><li>In <strong><em>CDF or Construction Data Form<\/em><\/strong>,\nproduct details shall be filled correctly &amp; in <strong><em>CCL (Critical Component List), <\/em><\/strong>product\ncomponents details should be filed in an accurate way;<\/li><li>Sample Test Report is valid for\nonly 3 months; before its expiry test report should be submitted to BIS. If you\naren&#8217;t able to submit the report to the BIS, then you need to submit the new\nsample again for testing;<\/li><li>Another important instruction\nyou must consider while choosing a lab for product testing is that the License\nof the laboratory should be valid &amp; not suspended.
