high quality of products;<\/li><li>This Certification minimises environmental risks\nas the Bureau of Indian Standards has prohibited the usage of certain chemicals\n&amp; materials under its prescribed norms.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Required_Testing_and_Marking_for_Refrigerator\"><\/span>Required Testing and Marking\nfor Refrigerator<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nis the required testing &amp; marking for the Refrigerator:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Required_Test\"><\/span>Required Test<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tests\nshall be classified into 3 groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Type\nTest<\/strong>:\nThis test includes the following tests:<\/li><li>Ice-making test;<\/li><li>High voltage test;<\/li><li>Door seal test;<\/li><li>Internal frost accumulation &amp; defrost test;<\/li><li>No load performance test;<\/li><li>No load adjustment test;<\/li><li>Test for the mechanical strength of self &amp;\nsimilar components;<\/li><li>Door &amp; fittings tests;<\/li><li>Energy consumption test;<\/li><li>Thermal insulation test.<\/li><li><strong>Acceptance\nTests<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Production Routine Test: This includes:<\/li><li>Insulation resistance test;<\/li><li>Thermostat test.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marking\"><\/span>Marking<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each\nRefrigerator shall have marked permanently &amp; legibly on one or more\nlocations with the details prescribed in the Standard. This ISI Mark may also\nbe applied to each Refrigerator. The Manufacturer must get a BIS ISI\nCertification for Refrigerator to use a standard mark (ISI Mark). The BIS\nissues a License based on a successful assessment of manufacturing\ninfrastructure, testing capabilities &amp; quality control &amp; production\nprocess during a visit to its manufacturing premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong><em>Each Refrigerator shall have the following\ndetails marked in a permanent &amp; legible manner in one or several locations\nwhere it is readily visible:<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li>The Manufacturer&#8217;s name or Trademark;<\/li><li>Voltage range;<\/li><li>Wiring diagram;<\/li><li>Rated energy consumption;<\/li><li>The model of the Refrigerator&amp; serial\nnumber;<\/li><li>The refrigerant name used in a system and its\nquantity;<\/li><li>Supply characteristics;<\/li><li>The rated gross volume in cubic diameters or\nlitres;<\/li><li>Ice-making time;<\/li><li>Name of\nfuel used (applicable in case of absorption type refrigerator);<\/li><li>Overall dimension;<\/li><li>Rated\nstorage volume. <\/li><li>Each Refrigerator shall be accompanied on\ndelivery by instructions for its use &amp; maintenance printed on strong paper\nor cardboard. These instructions shall at least contain information on the\nfollowing:<\/li><li>Operation conditions like starting, stopping;<\/li><li>Cleaning and maintenance of the Refrigerator;<\/li><li>Installation Requirements (in particular,\nlevelling of the Refrigerator);<\/li><li>Use of various control devices like defrosting,\nthermostat, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Additional_Requirements_for_ECOMARK\"><\/span>Additional Requirements for\nECOMARK<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Refrigerator shall conform to the performance, safety &amp; quality requirements prescribed in this Standard for ECOMARK. When applying for ECOMARK, the Manufacturer must provide BIS with the Consent Clearance required by the <strong><em>Water (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) Act, 1974<\/em><\/strong><sub><a href=\"https:\/\/cpcb.nic.in\/water-pollution\/\" class=\"text-primary\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sub> and the <strong><em>Air (Prevention &amp; Control of Pollution) act, 1986<\/em><\/strong>. For ECOMARK, the Refrigerator must meet the noise levels as specified in the Environment (Protection) Act, 19886, from time to time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_Required_for_BIS_ISI_Certification_for_Refrigerator\"><\/span>Documents Required for BIS ISI\nCertification for Refrigerator<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nis the list of essential documents required for BIS ISI Certification for Refrigerator:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Name &amp; address of the factory and the\noffice;<\/li><li>List of manufacturing machinery with the\nmachinery details;<\/li><li>List of testing facilities and testing\nequipment;<\/li><li>Documents showing the establishment of the\nmanufacturing unit, such as Incorporation Certificate or Registration\nCertificate or MoA, etc.;<\/li><li>Manufacturing process flow covering all\nmanufacturing procedures (from raw materials to finished product stage);<\/li><li>In-house or independent test report (if\napplicable);<\/li><li>In case of a Foreign Manufacturer or applicant,\nappoint an Authorised Indian Representative;<\/li><li>If the authorised signatory signs the\napplication, the authorisation letter by the CEO in the authorised signatory\u2019s\nname;<\/li><li>Information on outsourcing of manufacturing\noperations (if applicable);<\/li><li>MSME or\nSSI Certificate (if applicable);<\/li><li>Layout plan of the factory or manufacturing unit\nand map location of the factory;<\/li><li>Copies\nof valid calibration certificates for testing equipment.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_for_BIS_ISI_Certification_for_Refrigerator\"><\/span>Procedure for BIS ISI\nCertification for Refrigerator<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nis the step-by-step procedure for BIS ISI Certification for Refrigerator:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Testing\nof the Product<\/strong>: The product (Refrigerator) for that ISI\nCertification is required must be tested in any BIS-certified lab as per the\nIndian Standards. The BIS lab performed every test as per the guidelines\nmentioned under the IS and generated the test report.<\/li><li><strong>Filing\nof the Application<\/strong>: After the above step, the applicant needs to\nfill out the application form online and submit all the vital documents along\nwith the information asked in the application. Once the information &amp;\ndocuments are submitted, the applicant needs to pay the Licensing &amp;\nsurveillance fees.<\/li><li><strong>Inspection\nProcess<\/strong>: After filing the application, the BIS Officer &amp; BIS\ninspection team will visit the factory premise or manufacturing unit to inspect\nthe manufacturing &amp; production unit and they also check the working\nconditions &amp; facilities in the manufacturing unit.<\/li><li><strong>Verification\nProcess<\/strong>: After the inspection of the factory premise, the BIS\nOfficer will verify the product test report and all the vital documents &amp;\napplications.<\/li><li><strong>Grant\nof License<\/strong>: Once the test report is examined &amp; verified, the BIS\nOfficials issue the BIS ISI Certification for Refrigerator.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>The BIS ISI Certification for Refrigerator is valid for 2 years. The applicant can renew the BIS <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/isi-certification\" class=\"text-primary\">ISI Certification<\/a><\/strong> when there is no change in the product &amp; prescribed Standards.
