India is a member of this organization which is the Bureau of Indian Standard. BIS Registration is important and all the products confirming and adhering to the standards prescribed by the BIS are certified. And for\nthis purpose it has formed 4 regional, 8 central and 3 branch laboratories in\nthe country. And that is why the government encourage to issue BIS\nCertification for the following reasons: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Promoting the confidence to the consumer.<\/li><li>Providing assurance of quality.<\/li><li>Providing safeguard to public health.<\/li><li>Protecting the consumer from using any hazardous\nproducts. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure_for_BIS_Registration\"><\/span>Procedure for BIS Registration <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to take\nBIS Certification in India, the steps are required to be followed in the\nregistration process: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: The applicant is required to\ncreate a user ID and click on new product registration and if already a user,\nthen he is required to sign in with the user ID and password. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong>: Further the applicant is required to fill Form VI and make the prescribed payment as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong>: Once the form has been filled along with the payment, the applicant is required to click on the submit button and an auto-generated mail with the application number shall be received by the applicant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong>: Then, a hard copy of the\napplication is to be submitted within the <strong>15\ndays<\/strong> along with the original test report, not older than <strong>30 days<\/strong> required to be submitted by the\napplicant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong>: the application will be\nscrutinized by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and in case of any\nobjection or query; the applicant is required to reply for the same online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 6<\/strong>: The BIS Certificate is granted\nto the applicant upon the registration, once the objection is resolved and the\naffidavit cum undertaking is submitted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_the_Documents_required_for_BIS_Registration\"><\/span>What are the Documents required\nfor BIS Registration?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following\ndocuments are required to be submitted by the applicant in order to register\nand obtain BIS Certification in India: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The application form according to the prescribed format given in Annexure I. <\/li><li>A self evaluation report according to the required format given in Annexure II. <\/li><li>The original test reports from the recognized laboratory of BIS which is not older than <strong>30 days.<\/strong> Also, all the requirements must be mentioned in it as per the relevant category. <\/li><li>A scanned copy of the acknowledgement received from the portal and the screenshot of the online file submission. <\/li><li>Address proof, it can be the business license or any document issued by the government. <\/li><li>Submission of THE Demand Draft with the prescribed fee along with the Xerox copy of the NEFT and DD details. <\/li><li>The undertaking document.<\/li><li>An affidavit as per the format C. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Category_of_people_who_can_apply_for_BIS_Certification_in_India\"><\/span>Category of people who can\napply for BIS Certification in India<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>People who can\napply for the BIS Certification in India are as follows: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The manufacturers of the notified products formed in India or outside the country under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS).<\/li><li>Separate registration for each brand being produced at the same location is required to obtain BIS Certification. <\/li><li>Separate registration for products being produced at different locations is required to have BIS Certification. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many\nschemes under the BIS Certification which help the certified users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>BIS Certification in India is necessary so as to assure that the product is of a certain quality and is safe to be consumed by the people.
