ESI is governed by the <strong><em>Employee State Insurance Act, 1948<\/em><\/strong> and is managed by the <strong><em>Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)<\/em><\/strong> under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The ESIC is required to manage the funds as per the rules and regulations provided under the ESI Act. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ESI_Registration\"><\/span>ESI Registration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ESI ensures many benefits to the\nemployees under its scheme. All the establishments, factories and units having\n10 or more employees and having a payout wage rate of less than Rs. 21,000 per\nmonth is required to get registered under the ESI Act within 15 days of the\napplicability of the act. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Employees State Insurance\nCorporation (ESIC) Act, every employee who is earning Rs 21,000 per month or\nless, have to contribute <strong><em>1.75%<\/em><\/strong> of his\/her pay towards ESI,\nwhereas, the employer or the company has to contribute <strong><em>4.75%<\/em><\/strong> of the wages paid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedure for ESI Registration is as\nfollows: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step\n1: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant is required to go on th\u00a0and fill sign up form. The details required to be filled are, company name, email address, principal employer name, region or state etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant shall receive the temporary log in credentials\nthrough a mail from the ESIC department, which is used to login in to the\nwebsite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Further, the applicant is required to select \u201c<strong><em>New Employer Registration<\/em><\/strong>\u201d on the dashboard and the type of unit that is a \u201c<strong><em>Factory or Shop Establishment<\/em><\/strong>\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next step is to complete the employer registration <strong><em>Form-\n1<\/em><\/strong> by filling all the mandatory details required. (The applicant is\nrequired to fill the fields marked with asterisk*) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon the verification, a registration number of 17 unique digits shall\nbe provided to the applicant which shall be used for future filing of ESI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the registration is mandatory for all the entities with 10 or more\nemployees, an organisation can at anytime update the details of employee\nadditions, payout changes and etc. to the ESI department by directly logging in\nto the official web portal of ESIC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_required_for_ESI_Registration\"><\/span>Documents required for ESI Registration <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following\ndocuments are required to be submitted for the ESI Registration: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>List of partners, directors and shareholders of the company.<\/li><li>List of the employees along with their monthly pay details. <\/li><li>Certificate of registration of a license obtained by the firm under Shop and Establishment Act or Factory Act. <\/li><li>Registration Certificate of Firm i.e. private company, partnership firm or LLP. <\/li><li>Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association in case of a private company. <\/li><li>Partnership deed in case of partnership firm or LLP. <\/li><li>PAN Card details of the employees and business. <\/li><li>Bank details of business with the updated details of transaction regarding wages paid. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_procedure_of_filing_ESI_Return\"><\/span>The procedure of filing ESI Return <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Entities operating under <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/esic-registration\" class=\"text-primary\">ESIC registration<\/a><\/strong> are required to file returns every year. During this process, they are required to submit all the changes happened or done in the preceding year. The entities are also required to present the details of ESI contribution paid and must be done in every <strong><em>6 months<\/em><\/strong>.
