Without obtaining the license no food business is\nallowed to operate. The obtaining of a license depends upon the type of business that an FBO is engaged in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three types of licenses which can be obtained by an FBO depending upon the type of business: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%B7_FSSAI_Registration\"><\/span>\u00b7 FSSAI Registration <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>petty food businesses<\/strong> register under the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/fssai-license\" class=\"text-primary\">FSSAI License<\/a><\/strong>. The annual Turnover of such petty food businesses is less than twelve lakh <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%B7_FSSAI_State_License\"><\/span>\u00b7 FSSAI State License <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All the <strong>medium size food businesses<\/strong> obtain FSSAI State License. The annual turnover of such mid-size businesses is more twelve lakh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%C2%B7_FSSAI_Central_License\"><\/span>\u00b7 FSSAI Central License <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All the <strong>large scale food business<\/strong> obtains <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/fssai-central-license\" class=\"text-primary\">FSSAI Central License<\/a><\/strong>. The annual turnover of such is more than twenty crores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is much clear that the petty food business registers itself under the <strong>FSSAI Registration<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents_required_for_Petty_Food_Businesses_to_Register_itself_under_FSSAI\"><\/span>Documents required for Petty Food Businesses to Register itself under FSSAI? <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The documents\nthat the petty food business operator require to submit for registration is\ncomparatively less than the other food business operators as the petty food\nbusinesses are relatively smaller than others. This entire process takes 7 days to complete. <\/li><li>A registration certificate is issued by the Food and Safety department if the application is accepted. <\/li><li>Once all these steps are completed the applicant receives the license. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Exemptions_of_food_license\"><\/span>Exemptions of food license<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are certain food business operators who are exempted to obtain a food license in India like Petty Retailers. Along with this, the other FBO\u2019S exempted to obtain a food license are- <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Small scale food business operators<\/li><li>Itinerant vendors<\/li><li>Cottage food seller<\/li><li>Temporary stallholders <\/li><li>Tiny food business operators<\/li><li>Hawkers<\/li><li>Other food businesses whose turnover is less than 12 lakhs. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_the_Penalties_for_the_violation_of_FSSAI_in_India\"><\/span>What are the Penalties for the violation of FSSAI in India? <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain rules\nand guidelines have been set out by the FSSAI which is mandatory for a food\nbusiness operator to follow. If any FBO does not function in accordance with\nrules specified under the act, it shall be liable to punishment or penalty such\nas: &#8211; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Penalty_for_operating_a_Food_Business_without_the_License\"><\/span>Penalty for operating a Food Business without the License<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is mandatory for a food business operator to obtain a license in order to carry out his\/her business. Five lakhs<\/strong> and for the <strong>exempted category<\/strong> <strong>the fine is up to<\/strong> <strong>Rs.
