A copyright refers to the&nbsp;<em><strong>\u201cRight to Copy\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>only available to the\noriginal author or creator. If any unauthorized person or individual copies the\noriginal creator\u2019s work, they will be liable for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/blog\/copyright-infringement-and-remedies-in-india\/\" class=\"text-primary\">Copyright\nInfringement<\/a><\/strong> as per the&nbsp;<em>Copyright\nAct, 1957<\/em>. This Act promises certain protections with regard to the\nauthor\u2019s right over the creations made by them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The copyright protection provided by the Copyright Act, 1957, to the efforts of artists, writers, producers, musicians, computer software, dramatists, etc. creates an inspiring creativity atmosphere for them, which also inspires them to create or innovate more and also to inspire others to innovate or create such works. The invention or creation generated by the inventor or creator cannot be claimed for ownership for generations as it will be harmful to social integrity. In India, the time period for Copyright Registration may vary from country to country. If there is a stiff application of Copyright Registration in a country, it can affect society\u2019s progress. However, dramatic works do not\ncontain any type of cinematographic films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Musical_Works\"><\/span>Musical Works<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a separate work that\nis copyrightable in itself, and it doesn\u2019t include any types of lyrics or\nsound. The sound recording works are dependent on musical work, but to\nsafeguard musical work, a distinct application is required to be moved with the\nCopyright Office for the Copyright Registration of such musical works. It is\nnot required for the author of sound recording to take permission from the\nauthor of a musical work. For adoring Copyright protection for a musical work,\nthe musical work doesn&#8217;t need to be written down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Artistic_Works\"><\/span>Artistic Works<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Copyright Act, 1957 Section\n2 provides the provision related to the Artistic Works safeguarded by Copyright\nin India. In&nbsp;<em><strong>Section 2\nof the Copyright Act, 1957<\/strong><\/em>, copyright protection in artistic\nworks occurs in an original artistic work including paintings, graphics,\ndrawing, sculpture, photography, buildings models, diagrams, cartoons,\nlithographs, casts for sculptures, molds, etchings, plans, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cinematograph_Films\"><\/span><em>Cinematograph Films<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a work of a visual\nrecording with the sound recordings accomplished by any process, whether\nanalogous or digital, containing the video films. It also contains visual\nrecordings in any medium and by any method of keeping such visual records.\nAccording to the meaning of cinematograph films, every single recorded work\nwith moving visuals or images will be considered as a cinematograph.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sound_Recording\"><\/span><em>Sound Recording<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It includes any work of\nsound recording regardless of its storage medium. Any song which contains the\nvoice of a singer with or without any music, a recorded audio or podcast is an\nexample of sound recording.
