There are total five\noffices of the Trade Marks Registry with each having jurisdiction over certain\nstates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are five trademarks registry\noffices with each having jurisdiction over these particular states. The five\nmain trademark registry offices are:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trade_Marks_Registry_Mumbai_Head_Office\"><\/span>Trade Marks\nRegistry, Mumbai (Head Office)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jurisdiction of Trademark:<\/strong>&nbsp;Maharashtra, Goa and Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trade_Marks_Registry_Delhi\"><\/span>Trade Marks Registry,\nDelhi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jurisdiction of Trademark:<\/strong>&nbsp;Union Territory of Delhi and Chandigarh<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the states of Punjab, Himachal\nPradesh, Haryana, Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trade_Marks_Registry_Kolkata\"><\/span>Trade Marks\nRegistry, Kolkata<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jurisdiction of Trademark:<\/strong>&nbsp;The states of West Bengal, Orissa, Manipur, Arunachal\nPradesh, Mizoram, Assam, Bihar, Meghalaya, Sikkim , Tripura and Union Territory\nof Andaman &amp; Nicobar Island and Nagaland&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trade_Marks_Registry_Ahmedabad\"><\/span>Trade Marks\nRegistry, Ahmedabad<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jurisdiction of Trademark:<\/strong>&nbsp;The states of Gujarat and Rajasthan and the Union Territory\nof Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Trade_Marks_Registry_Chennai\"><\/span>Trade Marks\nRegistry, Chennai<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jurisdiction of Trademark:<\/strong>&nbsp;The states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu,\nKerala, and Union Territory of Lakshadweep Island and Pondicherry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The appropriate office is supremely the Trademark Registry for the purpose of filing an application for the specific business within whose boundaries the business is to take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jurisdiction_of_Trademark_Registration_in_India\"><\/span>Jurisdiction of\nTrademark Registration in India<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>With reference to the principle place of business, if there is no entry in the register of a proprietor then the place given in the address for the purpose of service in India that shall be mentioned in the register shall be considered as the principle place.<\/li><li>If the proprietors are registered jointly- then the business owner whose name is entered early in the register, his place shall be considered the principle place of such business in India.\u00a0<\/li><li>If neither of the joint proprietors is having their principle place of business located in India-\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the joint proprietors have an\naddress for service in India, then such place shall be mentioned in the\nregister and that place should act as the principle place of business in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>If the registered proprietor or joint proprietors of the trademark have no principle place of business located in India and also they do not have any service address situated in India as entered in the register-<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In such a case, the place of office of the Trademarks Registry will be the place where the registration application for the trademark is made and that shall be deemed the location of principle place of business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_the_principle_place_of_business_be_changed\"><\/span>Can the principle\nplace of business be changed?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No, we cannot change the principle\nplace of business<strong><em>&nbsp;in India<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;and we also cannot change\nthe address for service in India:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The registered proprietor or the jointly registered proprietors who are related to any trademark that is entered on a notified date in the trademark register shall be permanently in effect since then.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>If any application or any of the joint applications for the trademark registration \u2013 either it is pending or is applied on the place of business, cannot be changed after the filing of an application.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_a_trademark_application_gets_registered\"><\/span>Where a trademark\napplication gets registered?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The trademark application will be\nsufficient to prove the place of jurisdiction from where the business&#8217;s address\nlies and where the sole operation of the service is being done. Furthermore, in\ncase where the applicants have made a joint application, it will be deemed that\nthe principle place shall be the sole address of the place from where the\nfilling of the trademark application is done.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In cases, the applicant or any\napplicants jointly has not entered the business principle place then in such a\ncase the location that shall be considered shall be the location from where the\nsame application has been sent to the Registry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application of registration of\nTrademark will be done by addressing to the Appropriate Office.
