\u201c<em>Trademark<\/em>\u201d means a symbol \u201c<em>R<\/em>\u201d that works as a <em>shield to protect and safeguard<\/em> unique <em>sign, symbol, visual representation, words, <\/em>and <em>design<\/em> from <em>impersonation or imitation<\/em>. Further, the main aim of a Trademark is to facilitate <em>differentiation and separation<\/em> between the goods or services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also becomes mandatory and compulsory for the manufacturer or a service provider to apply for \u201c<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/swaritadvisors.com\/trademark-registration\">Trademark Registration<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u201d as early as possible to <em>preserve<\/em> the <em>uniqueness<\/em>, <em>individuality<\/em>, <em>distinctiveness<\/em>, and <em>exclusivity<\/em> of the Goods and Services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, a trademark registration remains valid for a period of 10 years, and the, same is eligible for the Trademark Renewal as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, a registered trademark holder has the power to sue a third party for the offence of Trademark Infringement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Governing_Authority_for_Trademarks_in_India\"><\/span>Governing Authority for Trademarks in India<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In India, the CGPDT or Controller General of Patents Designs and Trademarks works as the Governing Authority for Trademarks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the <strong><em>Trademark Act 1999<\/em><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipindia.nic.in\/acts-rules-tm.htm\">[1]<\/a>  acts the governing and regulatory framework for Trademarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Concept_of_Trademark_Classification\"><\/span>Concept of Trademark Classification<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0classifications or the categories\u00a0under which a service provider or an owner can apply for the Registration\u00a0under Trademark are termed as\u00a0\u201cTrademark Classifications\u201d\u00a0or\u00a0\u201cTrademark Classes\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further, these\u00a0classifications or categories\u00a0are made on the basis of the\u00a0segregation prescribed by the\u00a0\u201cNICE Classification\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, there are\u00a045 different Classes of Trademark\u00a0prescribed under the\u00a0Trademarks Act 1999, out of which classes\u00a01 to 34\u00a0are termed as\u00a0\u201cTM Classes for Goods\u201d. However, the\u00a0remaining 11 classes, i.e.,\u00a035 to 45,\u00a0are called \u201cTM Classes for Services\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, there are more than\u00a08000 services and products covered
