The company just need to give a call to PSA (Private security agencies) and it will be taken care by them.<\/p> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Well now due to increasing awareness about the effectiveness of private security measures, the private security industry has shown a tremendous growth in the last few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Salient_features_of_PSARA_Act\"><\/span>Salient features of PSARA Act<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) administers this act.<\/li><li>The act regulates the issue of a license to Private Security Agencies.<\/li><li>Until or unless the person holds a license issued under this Act, no person shall carry on the business of private security agency.<\/li><li>Private Security Agencies Model Rules, 2006 is introduced by the Central Government.<\/li><li>States have framed their own rules in terms of Section 25 of the Act.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Various_guidelines_under_the_PSARA_Act_for_private_security_agencies\"><\/span>Various guidelines under the PSARA Act for private security agencies<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Appointment_of_controlling_authority\"><\/span>1. Appointment of controlling authority<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The State Government shall designate an officer, not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Home Department of the State or an equivalent officer to be the Controlling Authority, by notification.<\/li><li>For the efficient discharge of functions by the Controlling Authority, the State Govt. may provide it such other officers and staff as that Govt. considers essential.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Eligibility_for_License\"><\/span>2. Eligibility for License<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The eligibility for License under <strong>PSARA<\/strong><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/psara.gov.in\/\" class=\"text-primary\"><strong>[1]<\/strong><\/a><\/sup> is basically in the form of required disqualification criteria, lets us understand this in detail.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3PSAs_not_to_engage_or_provide_security_guards_without_a_license\"><\/span><strong>3.PSAs not <\/strong>to <strong>engage or provide security guards without a license<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this Act, PSA (Private Security Agency) business should only start by a person who holds a license provided that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The person carrying on the business of PSA may continue to do so for a period of one year from the date of commencement of this Act, instantly before the commencement of this Act. And, the second case is when he has made an application for such license within the said period of one year, till the disposal of such application provided\u201d<\/li><li>No PSA (Private security agencies) shall provide private security abroad without permission from the Controlling Authority, which shall consult the Central Govt.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Use_of_uniform\"><\/span>4.&nbsp;Use of uniform<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Uniforms of the selected private security guards must not match with those of the police and should be such that it doesn\u2019t hamper the performance of the guard. In particular, the uniform should neither be too tight or loose to obstruct movement or bending of limbs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Security_training\"><\/span>5.&nbsp;Security training<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The detailed training syllabus required for training must be framed by the Controlling Authority. The training should last for a minimum period of hundred hours of classroom instruction and 60 hours of field training, expanded over at least twenty working days. In certain states, it is required to obtain an additional license too.
