What do you need to have before going for NGO Registration?

First, obtain your DSC which is a digital signature certificate that you will be asked during the online filing of your form. You will get this certificate from the certifying authority, as it’s the government which recognizes and issue it legally. The cost for getting the digital signature is variable to the certified agencies you’ll choose to get your DSC from.

You are supposed to either get a class 2 or a class 3 category of the digital signature.  Under the class 2 category, the person that is getting identified will be verified against the existing data but in case of class 3 category.

An applicant has to be physically present himself for the trust Registration and for providing their identity for the NGO Registration in Delhi.

After this, an application has to be filed for the Director Identification Number also known as the DIN. This DIN will be needed by you for the application of allotment of the DIN. This application will be required to be made via “former – 3”.  For this, you are supposed to attach a scanned copy of the documents that are necessary such as:

  • A copy of your PAN Card that is self-attested.
  • Id proof of the supposed directors.
  • Residential addresses proof of your directors and
  • Passport size photograph of all proposed directors.

This form shall be attested by any practising charted accountant or a company secretary or cost accountant. And submit all this to the MCA portal.

Let us now discuss the forms required for the NGO Registration:

  • RUN- Reserve Unique Name form is for name approval of the name.
  • INC – 12 – This form is for the issuance of a license as under the section 8 Company’s Act 2013[1].

What must you get an NGO Registration?

In the beginning, we could run and operate and may also organize the program by ourselves but eventually, we need to make a group or a team to easily carry out our work. So after you build that team you’ll need a trust registration online of the organization despite capabilities of running it on your own level. But when you start receiving donations then it is accountable for NGO Registration. Once this NGO Registration is done then assents can easily be received in the name of this organization you’ve formed and subsidies. If it’s not registered then it’s only going to get your resources from the other individuals which might not always be available. There are always certain ethical, legal and also social basic regulations which must be followed in case we are working as a group or an organization.
